Growing Your Business on a Budget

Many startup businesses struggle with gaining traction due to their limited funding. Thankfully in today’s online world, that is no longer such a major hurdle. There are many effective ways to get viewership without breaking the bank, and luckily for you we have compiled a list for you!

1)   Blog posts – You can’t be all that surprised to see this one on the list! Clearly the blogging has its place, and can be an excellent way to engage your possible customer. Use your blog to position yourself as a thought leader, and also provide interesting information that your readers would find helpful.

2)   Social media – Find the channel of social media that resonates with your customers and begin social engagement. Building a follower base enables you to speak to your customers on a regular basis and create a relationship. This avenue also will assist your website with gaining more traffic by directing visitors to content on your website.

3)   Free publicity – Reach out to local media outlets to try and generate some stories about your business or product. This can take the form of radio interviews, news stories, press releases, etc. Every media outlet needs content to keep their show interesting, so you’re helping each other out!

4)   Webinars – Depending on the type of product or service you offer, webinars can be an excellent way to allow a large group of customers to learn about your product. Some services even allow you to record the webinars for sharing later, which can be used on your website, social media, or blog. This can help potential customers feel more comfortable with your product/brand.

5)   Networking – We can’t emphasize this enough, networking is an excellent way to make contacts for your business. Even if the person you meet may not be directly interested in your business, they may have people they can put you in touch with. This is one of the most undervalued areas of business, and one that can drastically change the trajectory of your business. That one contact could provide a sales lead, provide a solution to an issue you have, or be able to recommend someone for a new hire.
